The Roofline Does the Quiet Work

Fascias, soffits and guttering are the roofline: the boards behind the gutter, the panels under the eaves, and the gutters and downpipes that carry rainwater away. When timber boards rot or plastic gutters sag and overflow, water runs down the wall and finds its way into the brickwork. We replace old timber and failing plastic with proper uPVC that does not need painting and shrugs off British weather.

How We Do It

Measure and Quote
We measure the roofline, check the state of the timbers behind it, and price the job in writing.

Strip and Inspect
Old boards and gutters come off and we check the rafter feet for rot before the new boards go on.

Fit the Roofline
New fascias, soffits and guttering are fitted level, with proper falls so water runs the right way.
4
Test and Tidy
We run water through the gutters to check the falls, then clear away every offcut.

What Affects the Price

No two roofs are the same, so we price each job on its own after a survey. The main things that move the price are:

The length of roofline being replaced
Whether rotten rafter ends need repair first
Board and gutter colour and profile
Access and the number of storeys

Do I need to replace the boards or just the gutters?

Sometimes only the guttering has failed. We check the boards behind it and tell you honestly whether they can stay or need doing at the same time.

Can you match a colour other than white?

Yes. As well as white, uPVC comes in black, grey, rosewood and oak effects, so we can match what is already on the house.

Will new fascias help with damp?

Often, yes. Overflowing gutters and rotten boards are a common cause of damp on the wall below, and putting the roofline right stops the water reaching the brick.

How long does a roofline replacement take?

Most houses take one to two days once the access is up. A larger property, or one needing rafter ends repaired first, can run longer, and we will tell you which yours is before we start.

Do you need scaffolding to fit new guttering?

Not always. A lot of roofline work can be done safely from a tower or ladders on a standard two-storey house. Where the height or the ground makes that unsafe we scaffold, and the cost is in the quote.
