Overview
When a Repair Stops Paying Its Way
A tired roof rarely fails in one place. Once the felt has perished and the battens are soft, every storm finds a new way in. A full re-roof puts that right in one go: off with the old covering, a proper look at the timbers and a fresh breathable membrane, then new tiles or slate laid to last. We work on pitched and flat roofs across Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas, and we leave the site clean and the old material taken away.

- Full strip of the old covering, felt and battens
- Inspection of rafters and timbers, with any rot replaced
- New breathable underlay and treated battens
- New tiles or natural and fibre-cement slate to match the property
- Ridge, hip and verge finished with dry-fix systems where suitable

- Scaffolding erected, inspected and taken down
- Site cleared and all waste removed
Flat roofs
One-Piece Rubber Flat Roofs
Not every roof is pitched. For garages, extensions, dormers and porches we fit one-piece EPDM rubber: a single sheet bonded down, with no seams across the roof to fail and no naked flame. It is fitted cold, it does not go brittle in the sun the way felt does, and a properly laid rubber roof has a life expectancy of up to 50 years.

How We Do It

Free Survey
We look over the roof inside and out, then set out the options in writing with a fixed price.

Scaffold and Strip
Access goes up, the old covering comes off, and the timbers are checked while they are exposed.

Weatherproof
New membrane and battens go on, so the roof is protected before a single tile is laid.

Cover and Finish
Tiles or slate are laid, ridges and verges fixed, and flashings dressed in.

Clean and Sign Off
We clear the site, walk the work with you, and confirm the guarantee.

What Affects the Price
No two roofs are the same, so we price each job on its own after a survey. The main things that move the price are:
- The size and pitch of the roof
- Tile or slate choice, and whether it is being matched to a period property
- The state of the timbers once the old covering is off
- Access and scaffold requirements
- Any extras such as new flashings, insulation or rooflights
- The volume of waste coming off the roof and its disposal
